Fence Sealing

Clear water-repellent sealing for wood fences that fends off the rot, graying, and moss our damp climate encourages.

What This Service Involves

Fence boards face weather from both sides and rarely get a chance to dry out in a Washington winter, so untreated cedar and pine gray and soften quickly. After cleaning the panels back to sound wood, we apply a penetrating sealer that repels moisture and slows biological growth. This keeps posts and pickets sturdier, holds the natural grain longer, and reduces the green sheen that coats shaded fence lines. Sealing right after a proper cleaning is what protects the investment rather than just improving it for a few weeks.

Benefits

Sheds rain to slow rot in posts, rails, and pickets; Delays the gray, weathered fade of exposed wood; Limits moss and algae film on shaded panels; Helps the fence keep its structural integrity longer; Maintains a clean, uniform grain appearance

Our Process

1) Wash the fence and remove mildew, algae, and loose fibers; 2) Let the panels dry fully after cleaning and brightening; 3) Apply penetrating water-repellent sealer to both faces; 4) Ensure even coverage on end grain and allow curing

What Affects the Cost

Total linear footage and height of the fence run; Single- or double-sided treatment coverage; Wood type and how much sealer the grain absorbs; Cleaning, brightening, or stripping needed beforehand; Access around landscaping, gates, and tight property lines

Best Time of Year

Seal fences in the dry summer months when both sides of the boards can dry out and the repellent can bond properly.
