What This Service Involves

Wood decks in our climate live under near-constant damp, and unsealed boards quickly turn gray, cup, and grow slick with algae. Once the deck is cleaned and brightened back to fresh wood, we apply a penetrating water repellent that soaks into the grain and pushes rain away. This keeps the boards dimensionally stable, slows the graying, and dramatically reduces the slippery film that makes wet decks hazardous. Sealing after cleaning is the step that turns a one-time refresh into lasting protection through our long rainy season.

Our Process

1) Clean the deck and remove mildew, algae, and surface graying; 2) Brighten and neutralize the wood, then let it dry to spec; 3) Apply a clear or lightly tinted penetrating sealer along the grain; 4) Back-brush for even absorption and allow it to cure before use
