Gently clean brick walkways so moss and joint growth lift without dislodging sand or mortar.
Brick paths hold moisture in every joint, and in the Pacific Northwest that means moss and weeds take hold fast between the units. We favor a lower-pressure, detergent-led approach that clears the organic layer while protecting the jointing sand and mortar lines. Aggressive blasting on brick blows out joints and invites more growth, so we tune our equipment to the surface. The finished walkway shows warm, even brick tones with clean, defined seams.
Protects jointing sand and mortar from blowout; Kills moss and weeds lodged between bricks; Revives the natural warmth of the brick color; Reduces trip hazards from lifting, moss-filled joints
1) Sweep and remove loose growth and standing debris; 2) Saturate the brick with a moss-targeting solution and allow full dwell; 3) Rinse with controlled low pressure to preserve joints; 4) Re-sand joints as needed and give a final even rinse
Number of square feet of brick pathway; Condition and looseness of existing joint sand; Extent of moss and weed infiltration; Whether re-sanding or joint repair is included; Slope and drainage of the walkway
Clean brick walkways in summer when joints can dry fully before fall re-sanding sets.
